So if you just exercise some more... [It's said in the tone of traditional pestering, rather than an actual suggestion. They both know Sans isn't about to start doing push-ups to lengthen his fake levitating prowess.
But in the meantime, the batter is about ready, and Papyrus hauls the waffle maker to where it can be plugged in and pre-heating.]
You'd have better luck waiting for me to learn to levitate. [Sans will never exercise more, he refuses. Instead, he'll grab that mason jar of chocolate chips to eat some while the waffles are being made. Pre-breakfast snack.]
[Waffle maker going, cooking spray acquired and being applied, a brief unsurprised scowl shot Sans's way for digging around in the chocolate...]
Which you probably can? Think about teleportation, and do the opposite of that! I don't know why it gave you so much difficulty. [It wasn't easy, by any stretch, but in this regard he's not going to play along with Sans's stories of being a lazy incompetent.] I mean, what you're doing now, is it blue magic again? It felt like it.
[Sans, mouth full of chocolate chips, pauses to float the mason jar around a little.] Pretty close. Not exactly the same. Like how I teleport here, real close but not quite.
[Maybe because the source has changed? Given how much glowing he did a few weeks ago it's safe to say he's pretty light-based now. That and quantum physics, which would explain how close some things feel.]
Gravity magic's gravity magic, I guess. Mostly.
[He tries directing it at himself again, but nothing happens.]
[Not for the first or last time, he misses his own magic. The things he's learning to do with electronics and machinery are cool, and if he can build advanced enough things he can start making outright workarounds for some of it... But sometimes his reflexes still trip him up. And being a robot (mostly) is heavy.]
Hey, was picking me up much strain??
[Maybe Sans could glide on his wings, levitating Papyrus along. Good for practice flights, once he gets the miniature rocket booster situation worked out! He finishes with the spray, grabs the batter bowl and starts ladling some in.]
It was easier than trying to pick you up with my arms would be. [Which is not very specific, since Sans hasn't been able to pick up Papyrus like that in years and years.] It's harder than when you were all skeleton, but it's not that bad. Probably'd be worse if you tried to fight it.
