DESCRIPTION: You mean he actually has mail? Please don't mind the skeleton, weeping with joy at the sight of mail in his mailbox.
So then something is probably wrong, [She mutters. She does not say 'I knew it!!' but the tone is certainly there.
She has other points however.] He was already doing that earlier. When he started things, but then started other things instead. That was what he was making. Starts of stories.
...He didn't write like 'today' until...'today'.
...He didn't even know he didn't have any pages like that today. He just looked and didn't find any, and it just felt weird...
[She doesn't even mean 'literally'. Honestly in terms of emotions he was probably...Fine. Except for the confusion. That thought has her curl up a bit behind Papyrus' ear.]
...he didn't remember the other honorables trying to help, [She realizes softly.] ...Maybe I didn't ask him for paper before, and thought I did but...
...I definitely saw other honorables ask if he wanted them to read his stories, or have help...
...he didn't remember that though...
[She seems to be following her own various trails of thought right now, unable to completely figure out what the source of all this is.]
[Papyrus' ear flicks a little reflexively as she shifts around back there, but he holds it forward once he notices. Fur is itchy, sometimes, and especially with friends sitting in it.]
So he's doing different things... writing different things... and he doesn't remember things about the last few days...?
...Maybe, it's not really Sans? But some kind of... illusion spell. [He grumbles] Which might sound made-up, but I've seen it before.
Illusions are the made up things, I don't think spells for illusions would be the made up part.
[But hey what does she know. Regardless.] ...I don't have anything that can break magic... ...I practiced lots of things, but not that, [She adds.]
...You're the one who knows him most, so... ...I thought if you thought something was wrong, then I would know I have to get more help. Like...the doctor, or someone, [she adds- she means Herbert, naturally, but anyway.]
If it comes up much more, I'm going to practice that. [He already knows a few sorts of magic, and you just toss bullets at each other to cancel them out; learning to cancel illusions should be easy! Probably.]
But you came to the right person, good choice. I'll check on him, and see if this is him-wrong or something else-wrong... and then... I'm not sure. If it's an illusion, I can just leave it be, I guess. [He's not happy about it, but everybody will hear what's going on soon enough.] What can the doctor do?
[It's a shame! But he can make gold stars for her even as a fugitive, that doesn't decrease their value too much]
How ambiguous... but the logic works out. Let's make him the back-up plan, if the other ones don't work out. [Which means, of course, finish figuring out the first plans.] If he's not an illusion...
Well. If it's merely too much artistic inspiration, he'll react if I'm concerned. So I'll be concerned at him!
And... [Wismuth wasn't so long ago, after all] and if it's him, but something's... changed him very badly... I know 9S knows mind control stuff.
If that doesn't work, Herbert. [Does that cover all their bases, other than the find Sans part...?]
[She's going to dedicate a whole shadow sculpture to him.]
Umn.... ...ok. So I should wait until your first plan..?
[She's about to ask about what the first plan even is, when 9S comes up.] Oh! Him? ...I guess that makes sense. You just have to bring him to the library, and make sure no one sees you... [The Actual Execution ended up much smoother than Reira's suggestion, no surprise,]
...how will I know when the first plan is tried? Are you going to go somewhere?
Hmmm. Lots of people use the library... That's lots of people to see us do whatever we do. No, I want to bring him somewhere else, that other people don't go. Somewhere like...
[He chews his lip thinking it over, fangs parting the fur on his chin.]
A secret art space. I'll ask Rita if she knows a place like that! She's been sending notes to lots of people. And whoever's running messages can let you know, if I don't see you!
[After all, what's the chance that they all get caught and nobody knows what happens to tell her?]
Yeah. I was really careful when I was talking to him..! [She adds, quite proud.] The only thing anyone heard was me asking about art things, like I talked to him about before.
...That makes sense though... ....Rita made lots and lots of glass cats in one place before, so maybe there...? [Ultimately it'll be their call, but it's the first place she thinks of.
The idea that she might not see Papyrus again has her worried however.] .....you think you'll have to stay away..? [She asks, somehow going quieter despite already being at a whisper.]
[He nods a little approvingly that she was circumvent and casual while talking to 'Sans,' and goes "ooh, yeah" at the mention of Rita's art space. That should work perfectly.
Well...
[At that last question he walks a little more stiffly, forgetting that while it might look cool and tall and impressive, the tension in his body would communicate to someone riding on his head. It's with a lighter and confident-sounding voice that he tries to reassure her.]
Only maybe! I have loads of kidnapping experience, [he once captured a single human only a few years older than Reira.] So there's no question of getting him to come along, no matter what. But... It'll be a little suspicious, if I'm the last seen with him and it takes a while. So I might have to 'lay low' until we can convince anyone worried that he's fine.
[Nobody suspected spiders treating the beetle as a camera to watch suspicious things. That's just how it goes sometimes.]

O-of course! We may not have radios... [a decision he's still unhappy with, even if it was kind of necessary.] But we can pass notes, some way or another.
[unless he's out in the desert, where nobody's delivering mail. he's sorry all his reassurances got thwarted by circumstances, reira.]
And, this won't be forever. We'll be back at the carnival before you know it. Just count to a thousand! Slowly.

Either way, Reira feels a little proud- she did something good! YAY!
Shame Papyrus is about to be an outlaw now.] Mn...I don't know. But Doctor Herbert is the 'Doctor', so he has to know something about fixing people.

[YOU SHOULDN'T MESSAGE THINGS AT ALL.] ....I wish bones could do something like that....but ok.
[She will count to 1000. Slowly. Multiple times.
Look what you've done.]
